Step Inside
Despite being in the heart of Sydney, historic Vaucluse House is a long way from the hustle and bustle of modern city living.
The majestic homestead was designed to impress, with high ceilings, sweeping staircases and opulent furnishings – and it’s still stunning today after extensive research and a great deal of hard work by the Historic Houses Trust.
The grand drawing room, decorated in the height of 1840s fashion, is regarded as ‘one of the finest surviving colonial interiors’, while a mosaic-floored tearoom provides a charming and intimate retreat for the ladies of the house.
The home is open to the public – but be sure to allow the whole day to explore it. After our visit, we’re certain you’ll find it difficult to leave this beautiful home! |
